1955-57 CHEVY IDIDIT FLOOR SHIFT STYLE TILT COLUMN

These are "Retrofit" tilt columns made for 1955-57 Chevrolets. This is a floor shift style 8 position tilt column. Columns use a 1"DD shaft and comes completely wired with self-cancelling turn signals,4-way flashers, horn wiring and includes an aluminum dress-up lever kit. These columns are designed to use with 1969 or later GM wheels or most aftermarket custom wheels. To use a stock steering wheel you must order an adapter Part # IDT-0001B. Please select from options below to order correct column for your car. Also listed below are the necessary parts you can choose to complete your installation. These columns with the correct coupler can be used with a stock steering box or a modern GM power steering box. Contact us for columns using rack and pinion steering. On 1957 models a tilt column will move the steering wheel 2" closer to the driver, to alleviate this issue a "Shorty 9 bolt" steering wheel adapter will be necessary.
